The firm has particular expertise in employment law both contentious and non-contentious developed partly from our involvement in mergers and acquisitions and partly from servicing day to day issues that arise within clients' businesses.
The firm advises on a daily basis on the drafting of employment contracts (and severance agreements), the Acquired Rights Directive, Organisation of Working Time Act, fixed term/fixed purpose contracts, part-time workers rights together with all other relevant employment legislation and also advises on the wider general law dealing with issues such as discrimination, equality, equal opportunity, discipline and grievance.
The firm has also extensive experience in dealing with employment related litigation not only advising clients and appearing on their behalf before the Employment Appeals Tribunal but also employment related litigation before the High court including the obtaining and defence of employment related injunctions and judicial review of administrative decisions affecting employment contracts. The firm's personnel frequently assist clients generally in preparing dispute issues for presentation to the Labour Relations Commission, the Labour Court or other appropriate court or authority.
